ANY BANK WILL NOT ACCEPT ANYTHING WRITTEN ON NOTE 
RBI Guidelines: Because of writing on Indian currency notes, Indian Govt loses Rs 2,638 cr each year, so please don't write anything on currency note

    This news seems to fake. Although it has featured in a few reputed newspaper, this is something affecting entire Indian population and RBI cannot expect everybody to exchange their 'written-over' notes within a short span of 2 months as every second note of any denomination is written over. Next comes the point that nowhere in the news is cited the link of RBI ordinance. I searched the RBI site and found nothing. I have even dropped RBI a mail inquiring news' veracity and will update here as soon as I get a reply.
